I´m gonna bake a cake today
So May is just about ending. One of our cakes for our 1 year birth month was Jake Chapman tweeting back that he liked our Cmagazine interview where we quoted he and his brother . Also, Grant Kester kindly wrote us back to acknowledge he had received our email. They made our day.
Art and celebrity is another topic offshoot of the art/money/profession debate. “..the onset of globalism has given rise to the exotic notion of the artist(curator/critic)-celebrity as a globetrotting, biennale-showing, party-attending cultural worker.” (RFAOH-about) While being annoyed by the cliquey and self-absorbed culture of our discipline, we follow our own superstars and name-drop. It’s funny when you really think about the portion of the population who might recognize the names of such celebrities outside this field. We all need our cake for our effort if there’s no payment.
