Parade
Day one.
I can’t help but feel like I’m arriving at this hiatus party a little late when I see how much work/non-work the other residents have already done thus far. I have been looking forward to officially being on hiatus and have been telling a lot of people about it. Most have been curious, others have been puzzled, but once I break it down and simply ask them what they like to do for fun, I think they start to catch on. I’ve started to compile a little list of leisure time activities, and I look forward to exploring them all.
Today I did some volunteer work for Ballet BC, handing out candy canes and Nutcracker promos with a couple of the company dancers at the Santa Claus Parade in downtown Vancouver. I really enjoy helping out this great organization, and what better way to ring in the start of hiatus than with 300,000 Vancouverites and a bunch of marching bands?
P.S. Happy birthday, Batool.

Welcome, Karen! Man, whether we are on or off hiatus, the "work" pressure follows us, huh? Maybe we all have to meditate with those guys (ps RFAOH is not a daily blog site, everyone! Relax!)
